When the search for a small animal turned into a close encounter with a big one! This portrait of a Western Grey Kangaroo – often overlooked and taken for granted in the Australian bush – shows its raw and authentic features when foraging at armโs length. Inquisitive enough to pose for the camera, sufficiently alert to defend its nearby doe with a kick of its mighty hind legs.

It certainly was Janet! Despite being so big and bulky these roos sometimes use their stealth as all of the sudden it stood behind me!
Really? Ugh, that sounds super-freaky!
I took this picture at Conto, a place popular with campers, so he must have trusted me loads!
What a portrait, Maurice!
Thanks Dries, I think both the roo and I were taken by surprise that moment. Took the photo faster than his decision to take off.
With a brilliant result!
That’s too much mate; thanks ๐
